It is rather unfortunate that an actor of Kamal Hassan calibre is trying to do a balancing act between commercial and the art film movies.
Any body who has seen this movie wont dare to compare it with He Ram, which irrespective of its failure was a movie without any compromise. Except for the narration style and the initial art film like scenes there is nothing novel about this movie.All those who have acted in this movie have done excellent work except for kamal who with his fair skin looks like a misfit among the other rural characters.
Any ardent fan of kamalhassaan watching this movie would reallly miss the actor kamalhassan who performed excellently in movies like nayagan, thevar magan etc.
It is the director/scrreen play writer kamal hassan who deserves all the credit in keeping the pace in this movie despite its poor story.
Despite all the shortcomings its worth watching the movie for the sheer technical brilliance and the excellent music by Illayaraja. Watch this for director kamal if you want our old actor kamal, sorry you’ll be disappointed.
