We just got back from a spectacular family holiday at Vista Del Lago, Wayanad, last weekend.
I must say of all the places we have stayed in Wayanad, this one was easily the best and most accommodating! All thanks to Mr. Sai who owns and runs the Spanish themed Vista Del Lago with clockwork precision.
Everything about this resort is superlative – the breathtaking views of the Karapuzha reservoir, the finely appointed rooms, and of course the most scrumptious of food.
Well, the food here truly deserves special mention and is to literally die for. We were treated to the most mouthwatering of cuisine that ranged from Kerala delicacies to continental and Chinese. The in-house chef, Rasheed is quite simply a magician who whips up delicacy after delicacy with the ease of a MasterChef. He turned every meal - breakfast, lunch and dinner into the most exotic culinary expedition. He is ably backed-up by Kishore, who was always around to assist us.
Mr. Sai incidentally, is also a barbecue expert and has hand crafted a wide range of barbecue grills. All of which can be used by the guests to savor a chilly night’s meal at Vista Del Lago.
Vista Del Lago has 3 spacious cottages and one triple room. The rooms are spic and span with the fittings and facilities that normally grace premium resorts – mini fridge, tea/coffee maker, air condition and super-clean bathrooms with jaguar fittings. All rooms have balconies that overlook the lake and are great spots to enjoy moments of quiet introspection. There’s also an infinity pool with a panoramic view and a Spa.
In fact, Mr. Sai’s passion for the highest standards of hospitality shines through in every aspect of Vista Del Lago. He made sure our every need was met to the core and even went to the extent of providing us with some excellent chicken rolls for the journey back to the Bangalore.
At the end of our stay, we only wished we could have stayed for an extra night.
