I wondr why there is such a fus about this films’ outdated arranged marriage concept. I mean come on who these people are??? they are just a very tiny segment of India i.e. college going junta and ultra mod youth who only beleive in so called love marriages(most of these fails miserably because of high expactations) and even live-in relationships. otherwise more then 75% of marriages are arranged in India with the bride and groom consent and fairly knowing each other just like in Vivaah.
I simply loved this film, it was just awesome. I loved the so called old story narration that we were msiiing from a l;ong time and just lost it in the dust of dhooms, khrrishs, kabhi alvida na kehnaz type of films. Vivaah brings back that gentleness, softness, inocenss and sincerity in relationships on screen after a long long time.
Media can play a vital role in changing people’s preferences and perceptions and if the world is going on the wrong track u dont have to give boost to it through shameful films like KANK but should promote the forgetted and fadding golden tarditions, love, honesty and sincerity to motivate people to that through films like Vivaah and we all should appreciate this positive intention of Rajshree despite of criticzing it for just no good reason.
As a film, Vivah isthoroughly entertaining experience. Simple and gripping from start to end. No loop holes, no blemishes in the sceenpaly, no jumps in the script. The whole film was very interesting and very very well connected with lots of moments to carry home.
Performance wise Amrita Rao is the star of the film. She was the best choice for Poonam’s role and I am sure she will be the superstar of Hindi cinema soon if she works regularly as typical hindi film heroine in various roles, not only as a shy sweet girl only. Shahid Kapoor acted well as ever but he lacks a very strong screen presence unlike her girlfriend Kareena Kapoor. But I must say that he make a perfect perfect couple with Amrita Rao. rest of the cast was fine and adequate.
Music was soothing and gels with teh mood of teh film very well. Direction was the biggest plus point of the film like every Suraj’s film except MPKDH.
Overall a very enjoyable experience for all of you and this film should be appreciated and its core message shoukld be taken very positively by all instead of stupid criticism by the so called pseudo intellectuals and so called ultra mod NEW generation.
