I’d like to make something very clear here. People who read my reviews may have the opportunity to point out to me that I don’t reveal the plot in my writrings here. I refrain from doing so because there are so many reviews which are being written here in mouthshut which inform them about the story. Hence, a subsequent portion of my reviews can become redundant.
Talking about the blockbuster "Vivaah"(!!!), I’ll be right in saying (and many people will support me) that it was an extremely boring movie. One of the worst I’ve seen. Sooraj Barjatya is no good as a director. He is just a fluke and knows the pulse of the family audience. Here, he tells us a very simple and orthodox story of an arranged marriage between a rich brat Prem (Shahid; All the male protagonists of Mr. Barjatya’s movies are named this) and a "gaon ki chori" Amrita.
The protagonists appear to be very fake people and they seem to have no physical attraction between them. Weird! They could well be brother and sister! I have been a huge fan of Mr. Yash Chopra’s romantic capers but the difference between these two directors is huge. Mr. Barjatya should be sued for making such horrible movies. The music was equally terrible. The only good thing about the movie was the warm climax. How did "Vivaah" turn out to be a blockbuster will always remain a mystery, atleast to me.
