I bought a split AC yesterday (Samsung make), they said they dont have in show room will deliver from godown (viveks usman road). look what they have delivered, seems somebody was using it earlier or was on display or some body was playing football with the packaging before. Their explanation is that they opened the packaging to check if contents were OK especially the copper coil, (personally. Why did they open the indoor unit too and tape it with cello tape on top of original tape - look at photos). I am going to return and ask for sealed piece. have asked Samsung tech to install and before install to return if found tampered {(they (viveks) had recommended their own techs}.keep looking here (mouth shut) for updates. {lesson: dont settle for delayed delivery ask for immediate} problems now: unnecessary waste of valuable time for me to attend to these pathetic people..

(i dont know if mouth shut has continuation of review option I searched found only comments.. "update this listing" brought up the whole phone number and details. So here it is at this same place..) Well.. its been two weeks since I installed the Samsung Ac but I have to share with you all the happenings. (See blog above for the start - with photos). So our tech from Samsung comes checks and gives the OK. Now as I have already paid the installation charges to viveks I decided to go with the viveks tech installation guys. On Sunday two guys come, survey and decide to install on the terrace of our three storey flat (i am on the top floor and the guys do it without any safety rope - they are on the ledge - {accurately which is just about 1 feet wide of the sheer wall} - of the window sajja three floors up of my room leading in the copper pipes into the room - needless to say I had my my mouth throughout the procedure).
That apart, now, I have read the installation manual and know a thing or two of installation and so asked them if they have a vacuum pump and whether they ar going to purge the air from inside the newly installed copper pipes leading to the indoor unit, to which they said they do not have any pump and there is no need. So I decided to wait n see. At one point of time I noticed the tech had inserted a small slender L shaped screw driver into one of the purging valves. At that point of time I was clueless.. now I figured what happened. Our ignorance is bliss guys were happily purging the banned R22 gas into the air to compensate for the air in the copper pipes so as to prevent leak cause they had not purged the air inside the copper pipes!!!. Now this is serious... it looks like common practice for all AC installations. Imagine the amount of banned R22 gas in the air..How many such installations in India in the past decade. I bet 99% did not have vacuum pumps.. so I had to write this blog. are our politcos listening. After all they share the same earth...!!
(further air in pipe also compromises the compressor as per the manual)sorry vishal these issues are not in your league..)
