What I Liked:
SCREEN: The screen that Vivo has put in this device is very good. Its an LCD panel but I didnt have any isssue regarding the screen quality of the device.
CELLULAR CALL QUALITY: I didnt face any problem regarding the cellular call quality also. Signal reception is also good.
RAM Management: Despite of the heavy UI skin that Vivo is using on this device, the RAM management is surprisingly good. I didnt encounter issues regarding the same. Multitasking was also fairly good.
SENSORS: It has all the necessary sensors. Vivo hasnt skimped any sensor on this one. It also has the gyroscope sensor.
BATTERY LIFE: Despite having a 3, 260 mAh battery, in my day to day usage, the V9 lasted for about more than a day to one and a half days, thanks to the Snapdragon 626 SOC.
CAMERA: The front facing cameras performance is very good on this one. It also has that portrait(bokeh) mode and it works fairly well. The pictures from the front facing camera come out to be really very good. The rear camera also produces very good pictures in natural lighting conditions but when I moved to artificial and low lighting conditions, I frankly feel the performance couldve been better. So, according to me, the front facing camera is better than the rear facing camera on the Vivo V9.
What I didnt Like:
CHARGING: At a price tag of about 23, 000 INR, the phone simply doesnt support fast charging. The charger provided int he box is a normal one and when I tried to charge it using a Qualcomm certified Quick Charger, it actually charged the phone slower than the normal charger that has been provided.
Also, at this price Vivo shouldve gone with a type-c port which is not the case. This phone still has a micro USB port.
UI: The Vivo V9 runs on a custom OS called the FunOS and trust me guys, its the worst skin that Ive ever seen on a smartphone. I simply dont like it. the device performs fine during light to casual usage, but many a times I have noticed some UI lags.
REAR CAMERA: Its not that the performance of the rear camera is bad, but its not good also. Compared to other competitions, it really has weak performance in low and artificial lighting conditions.
PROCESSOR: Qualcomms Snapdragon 626 is not at all a bad processor. It is very good. But considering the price point of the device, Vivo shouldve gone at least with the Snapdragon 630 or 636.
CONCLUSION: To sum it up I would say that the Vivo V9 is for someone who has the money to spend for a phone which has a great selfie camera and which looks a bit like the iPhone X. If you are not that kind of person, then stay away from it.
