I MNPd to Vodafone last year. It has been more or less a good service. The network is good in Delhi and Ive not faced problems with National and International(UK-London/Cambridge) roaming.
The problem is that though their 3G speed are good, the 3G coverage is pathetic. To add to that they have a policy where you pay for data if you use data in 2G mode, if you have a 3G data plan active. I recently started using their 3G data plan over longer durations and found my main balance being deducted even when I had a data plan active.
As I see it the problem is like this - with 3G enabled, my phone sometimes move to 2G when it finds 3G too weak. Now Vodafone gets a chance to make me pay for their weak 3G coverage. Moreover their 3G plan by far the most expensive in Delhi at Rs 109 / 300MB compared to Airtel Rs 98 / 300MB.
This is not fair and Vodafone should either improve the 3G coverage, at least in the capital city of Delhi or remove the stupid limitation of using data in 3G only.
Otherwise, I have interacted with the customer care few times for some petty issues, and they were mostly clear. I am happy for not having found the need to call them too many times, something I consider a plus for a mobile operator.
I hope to stay with them as my primary phone connection, but plan to take another connection like MTNL purely for data, which has a excellent 3G coverage.
Cheers
