I recently ported my Airtel number to Vodafone India. I have been using that number for more than 4 years now so you can imagine how important that number is to me. Ever since I came to bangalore I’m using that number and everyone is having that number be it my banks, my office colleagues, my family, relatives or my clients. First issue is I never got any porting date and time message on my alternative number. Suddenly one fine day my Airtel stop working so I switched that sim with Vodafone. All problems started after that initially I was not able to register my cell on Vodafone 4g network inspite of having 4g and volte enabled phone. Then later on many of my friends informed me on my alternative number that they not able to reach me on my ported number. All those people are majorly from Airtel. I complained to vodafone customer care and even escalated to vodafone India twitter handle but all in vain. Then I decided to change my sim, all this included heavy wastage of my time as I have to constantly talk to their customer care service to know my issue status. Luckily after changing sim all my previous issue got automatically resolved but now I’m facing a new issue. When I’m connected to vodafone 4g network I’m unable to call anyone and neither anyone could able to reach me. All this is seriously killing me and I just want to go back to Airtel again but unfortunately I have to wait for 3 months before I could be eligible to port. My sincere advice to all, never port your important number and specially avoid porting to vodafone India.
