Hi all


Some Naked truths to be understood about these luring schemes.


But most of you would question me why specifically hutch and not others, I write about hutch because I have really been a loyal customer of them for last 2 Years. I will centre this review to be specific on their recent scheme and in near future comment on the bitter experience I had with them in the past.


First lets understand that India is a country with more than 78 per cent of the mobile users as prepaid customers. So thats why the GSM service providers have traced the path of CDMA Service providers in luring the customers.


The greatest problems Mobile service providers face is the Churn(Customer Moving from one service provider to other for various reasons)


The next important goal of all MSP(Mobile Service providers) is increasing their ARPU(Average revenue per user)


Now its an look from the customers prespective - Always subscribers expect longer validity.


Now the present MSP is to exploit the wish of the customers. All this story began when Tata Indicom a CDMA provider which was succesful in making much money and increasing their customer base and also solving most of the problems    what MSP face(Please refer the list above)


Now lets plunge into the Hutch way of offering this scheme

Lifetime validity


Talktime worth Rs 25


Full talktime on every future recharge


Local calls at just Rs 1.99 / min


STD calls at just Rs 2.99 / min


Free incoming calls for life


The first point I would mention is this mobile is worth only of Incomming calls and very expensive to make outgoing calls.


Talk time on your Starter pack is only 25 Rs.


Available Minimum recharge should be done every 6 Months. Now its Rs. 10. But they give no surity that it will be the same in near future. One fine day they have the privilege to say that Chaltha rahe customers should pay atleast Rs. 500 to keep thier number alive.


One more bitter truth is that, It has been found that licences of most operators will remain valid for not more than 15-odd years. This is because the first set of telecom licences was issued in 1994-95 for a period of 20 years.


MSP ensure that tariffs for lifetime validity plans remain unchanged only for a period of six months from the time a subscriber buys such a plan.


As these plans have not been in operation for a long period of time, it is difficult to conclude on the validity and sustainability of these plans


One more question to TRAI is that whether lifetime can exceed the balance licence period of the operators and if not, would the plans vary in their validity duration.


Also Connection will be permanently deactivated if no recharge happens for any continuous period of 6 months.


So now I think I would have made it clear it is a offer for the benefit of the MSP’s and if for the customers then for who get only incomming calls.


But please think twice before taking this offer as you are directly improving the ARPU of the company as you pay Rs.974 for nothing but having a connection of a mobile whose rules and Regulations are yet to be refined.


One happy hing to say about hutch when compare with other MSP’s is that whether it is their advt. or website they have spoken very clearly on the regulations and facts, which most other MSP’s have never revealed atleast in their advt excerpt saying CONDITIONS APPLY.
