Do without a cellphone but never VODAFONE

UNFORTUNATELY I WAS PROVIDED A NEW SIM IN DECEMBER 2010 BY MY EMPLOYERS - AGAIN VODAFONE AND MY ORDEAL BEGINS


I filled up a form with my correct address. Vodafone updated my records with an old address picked up from somewhere. I called them up when I noticed that I had not received a bill for more than a month. They said, we have sent your bill at XXXX address, please pay. I told them that the address is wrong and needs to be changed as per the application form. They said it is not possible and I need to write to them. I wrote to them but no change so far. When I was called for payment again, I asked them to e-mail me the bill, if changing the address was not possible. They e-mailed the bill for just one month. Next month, I faced the same problem.


I tried visiting their website to download the bill. What a harrowing experience. Website is patetchandru021y slow. Try https://vodafone.in and if you are able to finish your work and exit the site without increasing you Blood Pressure you are seeing the wrong site. Their site is slow, non user friendly and pathetic in appearance. I spent two hours and managed to pay my bill.


I wrote to their customtakeouter care again and again. Once I even got an SMS stating that my request to change has been processed. I logged in to find the old address.


I called up customtakeouter care and asked them for their MD’s e-mail ID. A lady came on the line and said Zixxxx.x@vodafone .com. I asked her again since I knew their MD’s name and she said Yes he is our MD. I asked her whether the MD had changed recently and she said, YES.  The e-mail ID given to me was of their Nodal Officer. WHAT ELSE COULD I EXPECT FROM VODAFONE.


THEIR WEBSITE SAYS 10 REASONS TO CHOOSE VODAFONE. I CAN GIVEN 1000 REASONS WHY NOT TO CHOOSE VODAFONE. YOU CAN GO WITH ANYONE BUT BEWARE OF VODAFONE. THEY SAY "BEWARE OF DOGS". BEWARE OF THIS DOG TOO.

Vodafone should be subscribed for only if you are a pessimist and would like to be harrassed for no reason. They need to learn what services are all about.


I called up helpline on 98200 98200. The guys out there, when you hear them, they sound like they are playing a recorded message over and over again. "We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused to you . blah blah." No real feelings attached to those words. Reason why I am saying this is that after all that you tell them, you hear these words again and the problem persists. They care a damn.


I first visited their store on 1st December for a SIM Card. I tried to take a token, to wait for my turn to be attended. There were plenty of these uniformed vodafone guys there. They rushed towards me and one guy stopped me from taking a token and said, "Sir just wait for few mins, The guy in the second counter will attend to you. I was thoroughly impressed. This guy in the second counter kept a guy waiting at the counter followed by me and vanished. He returned after 20 mins. By then all the other customtakeouters had finished their jobs and a new lot had entered. I got furious and raised my voice to gather attention. To this one lady employee came to me and gave me a form and said that all I need to do, is fill in and support with address and othre proof and a photograph.


I checked with them on 12th of December(on 111) regarding the deposit I need to pay for getting my International Roaming Basic Services and ISD activated. They said, I should pay Rs. 2000. I paid the amount on the same day vide a cheque drawn on ICICI Bank which Vodafone promptly encashed. This amount still does not feature in my account with Vodafone. They did not activate these service causing embarassment and helplessness during my Singapore Trip on 19th. Each time I call the Helpline guys I get the same answer, whether it be Anil Solanki or Vikram or anyone. does not matter. They care a damn. They are there only because you need a call centre to say we provide online help as well. WHERE IS THE HELP? I have written e-mails on assist@vodafone.com. WHO CARES. customtakeoutERS ARE FOOLS. WHY RESPOND? so no one will bother to even talk to you for atleast 3 to 4 days. After that a lady calls up and says we are looking into the problem and you will get a reply but till date there is no reply.


VODAFONE IN MY VIEW SHOULD SHUT SHOP IN INDIA.IF THEY DON’T KNOW HOW TO RENDER SERVICES.


I visited the store on December 26, 2007 to check where my deposit was adjusted. I was asked to go to Counter B SUJANA KANAL. She checked the details provided by me. Verified with her superiors and came back to tell me that the deposit will feature in my account and my services would be activated in 4 hours. Today is 28th December. The deposit does not feature in my account at the time of writing this report and also the International Roaming Basic services are not activated. Only ISD has been activated.


Yesterday, I sent a stinker to them and assured them that if things do not improve, I would lodge a complaint in the Consumer Court. To this they informed my representative that in 2 hours my services would be activated and deposit adjusted. Their promises mean nothing to them and should mean nothing to you.


IF YOU HAVE SOME WORK WITH THEM DO NOT LEAVE THE STORE UNLESS THEY COMPLETE THE JOB AND YOU ARE SATISFIED. BECAUSE IF YOU LEAVE IT TO THEM THEY WILL NEVER DO IT. THE SHEER NUMBER OF PEOPLE VISITING THE STORE IS REFLECTIVE OF THE POOR SERVICES RENDERED BY THEM.
