I am using Vodafone from a long time. I subscribed to it when it was Hutch long time ago.
Overall service is good, there are some glitches in customer service which exists and they need to work on these as the competition is getting tougher everyday in this sphere.
Right now I am in Bangalore and subscribed to Vodafone Karnataka. Following are my observations about the services
Pros:
They have a good network and infrastructure
Their billing is transparent, never had any issue with the billing
Talk Plans are designed to suit both pre-paid and post-paid customers
Vodafone stores, though less in numbers, are good as they act as one stop shop for everything (services)
Cons:
Customer service needs lot of improvements, it is really bad.
The co-ordination among various departments has enough room for improvement (I submitted verification documents for one of my prepaid connection, and after about 6 months I spoke to one support executive to resolve some issue, I was flatly refused as according to their system I never submitted any document).
Sometime I face call drop issues when I am at home, which is in the northern suburb of Yelahanka.
GPRS - sometime its painfully slow. Again support services issue with it. It took me about 5 days and many calls to get my GPRS activated.
They started charging for customer support calls, even if it is service related or due to fault on their part which is bad. Worse is its very difficult to get on call with support executives even if you are ready to shell out money for service issues related calls. They must improve on this.
The competition is increasing, Vodafone must act to be there in the fray. Overall I am happy with the service unless I have to pick up phone to speak to service representative, which is once in a quarter.
