Ten days back I applied for online purchase of VODAFONE POSTPAID CONNECTION. Vodafone website promised best of the customer service and believing MNCs at least would keep their promise, I applied for a new SIM Card online. Promptly came an email from Vodafone Customer Care assuring all the best of their services to me as a subscriber and that they would get in touch with me soon.
Even after ten days, nothing happened and every time I contacted the Vodafone Customer Care number 9886098860, they did not know anything about the scheme of online purchase of Vodafone SIM card and pleaded ignorance about the status of my booking. Rather they started delivering SERMONS to me saying that I should learn to wait till the SIM card is delivered. They did not care about even knowing the details of my booking or any other material information. The wonderful things is that Vodafone has a Circle Head Office in Bangalore and an equally fantastic grievance redressal system in the Company.
Every time I used to send a email to the Company, promptly I used to get en email signed by Marys, Monicas and the like, assuring me of best of service and help at all times and asking me to contact 9886098860 in case of need. Very strange. They have an unhelpful Helpline and customers are asked to contact this unhelpful lot of people for resolving our problems.
Ultimately, I wrote to the Chief Executive Officer of Vodafone Essar India Operations at their Corporate Office at Mumbai and I am waiting to see whether at least the CEO of the company responds. I have ultimately decided that if I do not get the SIM Card with due respect from the Company, I would pass on the security deposit of Rs.500 I gave to Vodafone Essar Company as MY CHARITY TO THE COMPANY.
