Well, it is certainly an attempted scam. If a user like me who pays the bills around Rs 1, 000 every month, a bill of Rs. 80, 000 is a bit absurd. What is more absurd is that Rs 73, 000 is most earnestly dedicated to my 2G Data plan. I wonder, what makes them think that a person is even capable of using that much of data, especially after understanding that speed that Vodafone 2G gives is a very high 14 kbps.
I went to the Vodafone store in Bandra, with the most hopeful hope of sorting this issue, but the so called "customer care" service informed me that there could be nothing wrong with the bill, and I have downloaded 300 MB every day. As poor at maths as they may be, if I had to get my bill to 73, 000 I would have to download 243 GB in a month. Let alone mobile, I would not be able to download this much data even on my wifi at home. Yes, I do have a wifi at home too.
The craziness of this situation is at its highest peak, and Vodafone is the most inefficient service provider that could exist. They showed no interest in resolving the matter, and they have done little to even listen to me. I do not have the time or energy to fight them, and I really want to get this resolved.
It is impossible that I could have used so of data, and there is certainly a billing error. Just acknowledge it, and help me solve it. Vodafone, stop scamming people. It is not healthy to harass them like this, and I certainly feel extremely harassed- to the point that I may even lodge an FRI charging Vodafone with defamation.
If anyone reads this, please spread the word of this scam, and of course how badly Vodafone and its employees function.I sincerely hope that Vodafone stops this nonsense, and does something about it.
