HUTCH

This is a problem that I faced a few months back. This was a letter that I wrote to hutch customer care. I tried to send it but it bounced back. Unfortunately at that time I was not aware of this site.


Sir,


I put forth a request to activate the hutch access service on my phone on the 12th of april 2004.I was able to log onto to the network for about 3-4 days and after that I was never able to use the service.Either it would not connect or it would connect and no data transfer would take place.


I kept calling customer care frantically and they beat around the bush and never gave me a proper solution.


I was asked to go to the hutch shop which I promptly did and still there was no solution provided. I walked into the hutch shop twice for help with no avail. After about complaining for ten days everyday I was told that there is a congestion problem.i was told that I would be notified by SMS of what the status is within half an hour but there was no communication from customer care.


I waited another day and told the customer care executive that I was told there would be a communication from your side and still I was not able to log on.I also told him to notify me through SMS at least today about what the status of the hutch access was and he said he would but then there was no response from customer care again.


The only time I had a proper connection was on the 20th of march in the morning and that was the end of it. Since then on I have not been able to log on and before 20th of march it was very occasionally that I was able to log on and very poor slow service. I have barely been able to use the service and I have been made to run around when I am spending so much of money.


Its been an absolute harrasment in terms of my time and my money. It has been very agonising firstly because I have not been able to use the service and secondly because of the poor support. At the time I was enquiring about the service at the hutch shop Indiranagar I was promised 11kbps of minimum transfer rate and the average I got was below 1kbps.


There was an activation fee of Rs 250 which was cut on the 12th of april as I activated this service and on the 1st of april Rs500 was cut as the monthly fee for this service. I just have not been able to use this service and I don’t see the point as to why this money should be cut from my account when I have been put through so much of harrasment and not been able to use the service.


I called up your customer care on the first of april at around 9 pm and asked then if they would refund my money and Mr Kiran said it is not possible. I told Mr Kiran that I shall take matters to a more serious degree and he said that I can do whatever I want.


Firstly I have not been provided a service that I have been asked for, secondly I have been harrased by the customer care not doing as they promised, thirdly I have been paying for a service which is as good as non existent and fourthly I have had to deal with executives who have the audacity to tell me to do whatever I want.


Also I gave a call to Miss Noor at around 9:40pm on 1st of april and told her that if my money is not refunded I will go to the consumer court and her response was ’’Its upto you’’.


Also Miss Noor told me that I was able to connect once and that means I have been able to use your services. I told her that I have not been able to use the services. She comes back with a reply saying that how would she know if I have been able to use the service or not. So that means that you don’t keep a track of whether the customers are able to use your service or not.


I have spent Rs 13, 000 on a new phone just to use the Hutch Access and another 1080 on a recharge card to activate this service which has been of an absolute waste of my time money and energy. I will have to take this to the newspapers and to the consumer court. I have waited enough for action and shall take matters to the court by monday and file a case of cheating against your company.


This was a letter that I wrote on the 1st of april which bounced back. As for an update to the situation. I gave up the matter. A month later in may I checked there was another 500 cut as the monthly service fee that made my balance negative Rs 586 from negative 86. Again I checked recently and my phone says that my SIM is not registered. So hutch is something to absolutely steer away from.
