Fake offer from Vodaphone about 3G offer on Samsun

I bought a Samsung Galaxy S2 and received SMS from Vodaphone offering me 1 GB 3G plan for 6 months.

I initially ignored it. Next day I got call from Vodaphone Customer Care about the above offer. I accepted this offer and waited for a day.

Here is the sequence of events:

  1. Day 1 - Bought Galaxy S2. Received SMS from Vodaphone for 3G plan

  2. Day 2 - Got call from Vodaphone about this offer and I accepted the offer. I was promised that it will get activated in 24 hrs and will also get SMS that service is activated

  3. Day 3 - 3G service was not activated. No SMS regarding it as well

  4. Day 4 - 3G service still not activated. I called up Vodaphone customer service. Excuse was technical problem.

  5. Day 5 - 3G service still not activated. called up Vodaphone customer service. Reason given was as 2G was active on my account already, 3G could not be activated.:( Then why was this not checked in previous calls on Day 2-4. Applied for deactivation of existing 2G plan hoping that 3G plan will get activated next day

  6. Day 6 - 3G service still not activated. 2G service de-activated as per request. So now living without internet on Galaxy S2. Horrible isn’t it. Called up 111 - Vodaphone  said they do not have request for 3G activation. So tool fresh request again

  7. Day 7 -  No 2G or 3G . Called 111. They said as I haven’t bought it from Vodaphone outlet, this offer is not valid. "God - help me" - then why they called me initially and undergo harassment for 7 days? Why they did not check this when taking my earlier requests? Why I had to de-activate my 2G plan and live without internet on a 30, 000 rs mobile?

Above all - Customer executives were extremely rude especially when I told them that they are giving contradictory info. I have decided to close Vodaphone connection and go with Airtel/Idea.

Beware of such offers from Vodaphone. They are blunders, They waste time. They are bad for BP. Mental harassment.
