Its an icon. The car I think has got the same design and styling for more than 50 years. What has changed is the technology and few cosmetic changes.
As expected from a German, ride and handling is superb. Its available only in petrol. I drove it for about 20 km during a test drive. The drivers seat is quiet comfortable. But the car is just good for 2 people. The rear seat are just made for babies and an adult will feel highly stuffy and will be short of space.
The direct rival of Beetle is the Mini Cooper. The Mini has an advantage over the Beetle, which is the rear doors( 5-doored Mini) . In terms of ride quality the beetle is better than mini. But the interior of the Mini feels more attractive.
Having a 2 seater with baby seats in the rear is not a very practical option. Its entirely an emotional buy. If you love to attract crowds, its the car for you. That iconic design is pleasing to eyes.
