I have Polo 1.2 petrol. I purchased nearly 1 year back and it is good.
Pro’s
Good Electronic power steering
Very good A/C
Gear Shifting is Good.
Good Suspension
Good Stability and Performance
Tyres are also good tubeless radial.
Looks exterior and interior good (quality) then Swift /Ritz even though Swift has powerful engine 85 ps
The power in polo is decent and sufficient 75 ps where as 105 for 1.6 polo is powerful
Good boot space.
5 speed intermittent wiper is useful for all conditions even in base model.
Con’s
The Rear seat leg space should have been better although I have seen that other cars like punto and I20 is having almost the same.
The ground clearance shd have been better as it touches in a really bad roads in bangalore. Other cars like Swift have better. May be because it(polo) has good suspension
Good in bad roads(Suspension) but not good in really bad roads with poth holes big as chasis may touch.
Turning Radius is high 4.97m
The engine is 3 cylinder(1.2) and 12 valves seems to be not so(technically) modern what VW has in other countries(like TSI) and other car manufacturers but it is good in performance.
I have not researched much on ETIO Liva, Figo and Micra.
The Dealer service shd be improved.
Coming to mileage approx.
I get 12 - 13 in city without or little A/c based on traffic 11.5 in heavy traffic.
and 10.5 to 11.5 with full A/c in City.
Highways upto 16.4 - 16.7 without A/c and min 14.7-15.3 with little or full A/c.
I feel it might be quite difficult for the person above 6.1 feet although steering is teliscopic.
I enjoy the riding especially V good on highways.(Make sure you have adjusted the steering and seat to your comfort).
If ur usage is good I wud recomment diesel. As petrol prices are V high.
The other thing is that the road view and to see the traffic signal the view area cud hav been better(like Jazz) when it comes to viewing tall objects which is close. As the overall height it self low.
It wud be better if they provide upgrade of lower model to all 4 power windows, rear wiper and remote central locking.
Compared to I20 the width is little less and length is little more.
I had 3 months waiting period.
It is NDTV car of the year 2011 and premium hatch back of the year.

After First Service
Unbelievable I am getting 18.2 KMPL mileage combined on Highway and Ghat section including a few strecth of bad roads but company’s Rating is only 17.2.
