Some data from my few test drive and my 6months research on cars
Reviews say its underpowered car, I have seen it reach 140 km speed without shaking or wobbling. Official data is 100km speed in 11 seconds. VW has 1.6L engine to offer, if you are power crazy.
Polo is a sports car. I dont know exact price of fully loaded 1.6L but it should be around 8-10 lacs. but you have option to choose and pay more.
Feature comparison is all I find in all reviews. But what about the detail of parts used in these cars? This is where I feel german engineering matters. Polo is quite old car. Due to this is it is tested with time, you will not see surprise problems in future in this.(Maruti called back their A-star cars due to fault).
I have seen and collected data for every car in this segment. You can also see data on websites and compare
Resale value: polo is low on this. but hey, I am looking for long term. And who knows the future? Ambasador and fiat(old cars) had good resale value back then.
Service station, parts, dealers: might be drawback. But I am not buying car to do service! I want good quality car to enjoy. More over you can judge the quality of this car by seeing data that it needs 1st service at 15k km or 1 year. To me good car is the one which needs less service.
Mileage: is at par, no complains.
Engine: little noisy, but it doesnt matter much to me.
Drive comfort: is amazing, it is better than many sedans available in india.
Handling: I have test driven all cars in this segment. Handling is very smooth, I have not seen this comfort in any car.
Brand: I feel big brands are not just for name sake. they prove their quality with time. Volkswagen can not make bad car. it is their reputation at stake.
Pricing: I feel pricing is perfect for this car. This is the reason you dont find any discount or offer with this car. Demand is high, production is not at full capacity right now. I am getting discounts and offers in other cars
Waiting time is high: you have to wait 3-5 months to get it delivered. I feel though its too long but the wait is worth.
