Vong Wong at Nariman Point
I really amaze myself when I come up with some really brilliant ideas. I had read Vong Wong’s listing in a compilation in the Times, and had decided to visit it for sure. And after many months could I actually bring my desire to fruition. I loved Vong Wong. The ambience is great, the food is great, and it really has a very high nutrient content.
Obviously, since I’m a veggie, I won’t be able to guide you on non veg items, but the Wasabi dim sums and Vermicelli noodles were great to sample. You have to try out Japanese food warm, and also don’t miss out on the sauces and accompaniments with the main dishes.
The restaurant was started 5 years ago in a prime location at Nariman Point, and the owner of the restaurant is Deepak Shroff.
They have a bake shop and door to door service too. So, if you want to catch Japanese food some place very far, then you can get it from the door to door service, whose number is available with Just Dial and Get It.
The restaurant has contemporary Buddhist décor, with a very elegant color scheme and great looking dining tables of various sizes so you can even go with large family.
The food is simply out of this world. It is all steamed, not deep fried, and the veggies they use are also great, crisp, and entirely delectable. You can try the Thai cum Japanese soups and desserts, and I’m sure each one on the menue is a great buy.
The restaurant is open at lunch and for dinner. There is a reception outside to do your table bookings, obviously, on some days, there might be queues! The attendants, stewards and bearers do a great service, and the receptionists are truly amicable and polite. Even if you don’t want to sit and it, you can just order a parcel, and they will make it for you in roughly 10 minutes. So, do visit, and let your family know about it too.
