I bought an item that I specifically wanted by a particular day but could not guarantee being at home so click and collect at the local post office seemed the ideal solution. Day 1 order placed, day 2 email received that it was dispatched, day 3 email received that it had been delivered to the post office and was ready for collection. However, that was not true. I went to the post office and they had not received it and told me there would be no further deliveries that day. They commented in passing that it had become a daily occurrence that people turned up for Amazon click and collect packages that had not been delivered despite Amazon saying they had. This is unacceptably poor performance for what is supposed to be a premium service.As simple and as pain free as it should be.
