If you are an Indian then VSNL is your ISP. It is so far the best ISP in India no matter what one says.
The connection is always made on the first attempt itself. You get connection speeds of upto 55 kbs average most of the time. Downside is that it is slower during the day but at night it rocks. The email facility works in harmony with all email clients. No matter what you should have a VSNL account.
All of what I said above is bases on my personal usage experiences from Feb 2000 when I brought the account. I have renewed it already in the monsoon offer. I am, you can say a satisfied customer. What more the customer service via phonecall or email is prompt is precisely just what you want.
The staff at both the PrabhaDevi and Fort offices is so polite and helpful. Especially compared to the rude and pompous employees of one another ISP from whom I had taken an account. They are hopeless and the connection is also hopeless. That’s why the benchmark of ISP’s should be the one and only VSNL. Very Sweet ’N and Loving (V.S.N.L)
P.S: Further more I think that once on entering their premises or talking to their staff you’ll never be able to make out that it is a Government undertaking if you know what I mean.
ISP’s are unpredictable man. They behave differently in different areas for different reasons. Have to stop using the word ’’different’’.
