Hey Guys, I purchased this 40 inch Full HD TV during Big Billion Days at unbelievable price.
During BB Day it cost me Rs.16240 after getting a discount of 1750 on using SBI Debit Card( Original Amount-17990) .I know what you guys are thinking- It’s Awesome, right? .I orderded this on 2nd Oct 2016 and got this delivered on 4 Oct 2016 in the early morning.Hats Off to Flipkart for promising delivery and services.
Although I faced problems in installation but Flipkart took care of this one too.The guy who came for installation asked if I want 4 way movable wall mount or attached one( comes inside the box) .You have to pay for extra add-on things depends on your bargaining skills.So I bought a hdmi cable, 4 way movable wall-mount and set top box wall-mount.
After the installation I did all the neccesary checks that needs to be done on any TV. Below are the things: -
1.Connected my set top box( Not HD box) in auxillary ports of TV. After that I tuned TV to AV.The picture quality of channels are clear and viewable( Because no hd box) .I was happy with the quality of SD channels.For better viewing change these in picture setting-Type: User ( Contrast, Brightness, Sharpness: 50) , Color: 30, Noise Cancellation: High.
2.I projected my laptop screen using HDMI cable and realised that all the side edges of the screen are not visible( for ex. start menu)
Then I changed the aspect ratio of TV to 1: 1 in TV settings. After that I got the full screen and everything can be seen.
3.I also tried to play movie using pen-drive.My usb 2.0 san disk pen drive did not worked. So I used my usb3.0 Sandisk Pendrive and voila it worked. I played a movie .mp4 with audio codec-.x264( Actually I downloaded it From Yify) .The picture quality was awesome.I recommend not to use pen drive to watch movies because it gets heated in 10 mins of usage.Better Use laptop screen casting for watching FHD videos or dvd player.I also played many FHD video from my laptop using hdmi cable.All of them have a detailed clear view of movies due to FHD resolution.
4.I also purchased extended warranty which cost me around Rs.2115( depends on screen size of Tv) from Jeeves Services.They handled my installation too.I know I faced problem in installation as it was done after the 2 days of scheduled date and it doesn’t sound the right move to take extended warranty from them but I will handle that in future.You can purchase extended warranty from VU itself, no pressure on
this move.
Pro’s:
a.Awesome Picture Quality in This price range( I Know your quality expectations match with Samsung, Lg or Sony)
But I insist try this TV for once and you wont be disappointed.
b.This Tv is a Beast in this Budget Price Range.
c.Sound is Good, it meets my expectation.I dont want to disturb neighbours
but when I do I use my 2.1 channel audio system.Advice for those who need a boost-
max out the volume of set top box in audio settings and then adjust your tv sound( Up and Down) however you like it.
Cons:
The only thing I don’t like is the black portion that often came during shows or anything you watching.It’s a little white flaky and a bit pixelated when you watch TV( SD channels) or HD - FHD video.You can notice only when you go near the panel( around 25 cm from TV) .
Installation was done after the 2 days from allotment date from Jeeves Services.But I know the reasons for this i.e sales of this T.V went too high to handle for Jeeves because I Did some research how many VU TV’s were sold during Big Billion Day.
