WAHEEDA RAHMAN........................the first thing that strikes you about her is her classic looks, charm and GRACE, i don’t think anybody could ever bring the amount of grace and sophistication that WAHEEDA RAHMAN brought to her roles, dance, expressions..................i remember watching her for the first time on national tv when one of her songs was being aired..................it was ’’JAANE KYA TUNE KAHI’’from PYAASA...............AND I was like ’’how could anyone look so beautiful and sensous even when covered from head to toe’’...........and that was to her credit.WAHEEDA RAHMAN was this incredible mix of beauty and talent..............who could do any kind of role with conviction....................she was a brilliant dancer too................WAHEEDA RAHMAN has always remained one of my all time favourite actresses and I feel she took HINDI CINEMA to heights that fairly resonated with grace and dignity.TRULY THEY DON’T MAKE WOMAN LIKE HER ANYMORE.
WAHEEDA RAHMAN was born in 1936...............in HYDERABAD, she worked for the first time in a telugu film and that role got her a break in hindi cinema...............she was cast in NAVKETAN’s C.I.D which was released way back in 1956, she played a wamp in the film....................and though people thought she looked too young, soft and good for a wamp................her career took off but it was HER association with GURU DUTT.............which brought her the desired success and oraise and made her reach different heights..............she got to work for the best banners, with the best actors.....................and ofcourse she got to do GUIDE in 1965, which was the most important film of her illustrious career.
HER BEAUTY...............She has been rated as one of the most beautiful woman to have graced the Indian film industry, Satyajit Ray once said that she was the most stunning woman he had seen...............and Amitabh Bachchan still thinks that nobody has quite the charm and beauty of Waheeda Rahman..............Guru Dutt was also known for his obsession for her..................for me too WAHEEDA RAHMAN IS THE EPITOME OF BEAUTY.CHOWDWIN KA CHAAND was the perfect song to describe her..............she had the most perfect features with the right amount of cuteness and innocence............in one word she was ALLURING’’................She looked the most beautiful in PYAASA, KALA BAZAR, GUIDE, KAGAZ KE PHOOL, SAHIB BIWI AUR GHULAM, EK PHOOL CHAAR KANTE..................
HER ACTING...................though she will always be remembered for her beauty, i think she was a great actress too.What I liked about her was her spontaniety and that she was a natural..........her expressions were also always very beautiful.She had a very nice soft voice and great diction................she was particularly good in dramatic scenes.I really loved her acting in films like PYAASA, SBAG, GHULAM, CID, KALA BAZAAR, KAGAZ KE PHOOL..............
HER DANCE...............she was a effortless dancer, very graceful, it was a treat to watch her dance....................my favourite song of her was ’’PIYE TOSE NAINA LAGE RE’’ and the sapare dance she did in GUIDE................it was splendid.Her moves were perfect.....................she was a trained dancer, thats why she made those dances look so simple.
BEST PICTURISED SONGS....................I simply loved her in the song ’’JAANE KYA TUNE KAHI’’, has to be one of the best picturised song of all times, just because of the way WAHEEDA RAHMAN enacted it.................her expressions were just brilliant and the way she moves in that song .......................she looked stunning.She proved in that song that you need not show skin or expose to bring about sensoulity on screen, what u need is right kind of expressions and correct body language.Another favourite song was WAQT NE KIYA and AAJ PHIR JENE KI TAANNA HAI...............beautiful.
SHE MADE THE BEST PAIR WITH, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , DEV ANANDThey came in innumerable films and they shared great on-screen chemistry.I loved their pair................specially in films like SOLVA SAAL, KALA BAZAAR, GUIDE, BAAT EK RAAT KI...................if you want too see their chemistry just watch the songs like ’’TERE MERE SAPNE’’, ’’RHIMJHIM KE TARANE’’, SHIKHIYUN MAIN GHOLE JAYA’’..............and a lot other.GREAT PAIR.
HER BEST FILM TILL DATE.......................for me it has too be PYAASA and GUIDE.Both were great films and gave her ample scope to show her histronics..................she got a well deserved award for GUIDE.
WAHEEDA RAHMAN..................................she was not only a wonderful actress but also is a great human being.She had a very clean public image................and she is still loved by people all over the world..................she is someone you can truly look upto.................WAHEEDA RAHMAN ................. again i’ll say you don’t make WOMAN of her stature, beauty and substance anymore...............truly someone who will remain in out heart forever.
