Thank you Ayyan, for not reminding me but actually showing me my old days... Many youngsters will thank Ayyaan for making this movie. because everyone will feel, this is about me...One of the example for the saying that it really doest matter what u do (or make) it really matters how u do it..
The story of WUS never inspired me to watch that movie. there are actually 2 things that attracted me to the movie.
1 - The starcast, kind of strange and interesting..
2 - Karan Johar... or I should say Dharma Productions.. The name matters a lot. Yashraj Films may bounce at box office (there are so many examples in last couple of years), but Dharma comes with the kind of assurance that the movie will be liked.
The story??? U already know, even the conclusion. Nothing new really.
There have been movies like this earlier u call it first part of lakshya, or how Senior AB treated Akshay Kumar in Waqt.
But Sid is not Hrithik or Akshay Kumar... Ranbirs acting is so natural that it really becomes easier for anyone to identify. And believe me, there are many students who are going through the same situation or people like me who have gone through that period... It is very real.
Rishis (Sids friend) love life and Kashmira were not required though.
The performance was really nice. Sid was the most important character of the film and Ranbir did a great job. konkanas role was similar to her earlier movies, and she did well, as usual.
Supriya Pathak was nice playing Sids typical mother. Rishi and lakshmi looked real and good. Anupam Khers acting really answers my question that there are new actors coming in younger generation role but havent seen anyone new (except Boman Irani) playing fathers uncles aunts mothers role... Anupam Kher, AB, Naseruddin are really wonderful actors and in this movie, you can see why they are required.
Cinematography was very real and without larger than life sets. Music was nice enough. I liked the Ektara song composed by Amit Trivedi (Dev D fame).
It is a very simple feel good movie, go and watch it.
