Even if you don’t know who Johnny Cash is or you have heard only one song of his, this film is a great reflection of this singer and his life. Joaquin Phoenix is the most amazing actor, his talent in portraying this person, his singing ability and all the various phases that Johnny Cash went through in his life, made me realise what a superb performer Joaquin is. A very powerful performance.
The same goes for Reese Witherspoon. She sang and played her part extremely well too. Their chemistry on screen was just right and it was a treat to see a real life love story.
Earlier reviews on this movie has said enough and more and so I think one should go and see the movie and enjoy it. Before you go for the movie download a couple of Johnny Cash songs, or borrow a CD or cassette of Johnny Cash and listen to it and then you will really appreciate the movie.
A footnote - Joaquin and Reese sang all the songs themselves. No Playback like Hindi movies and no Lipsync like English movies.
