Now I am not one of those people who love Wal Mart, but I do like them. And I can actually go into one of their stores and not buy a thing. I can also go to their online store and look around all day and not buy a thing. But I can sure make a wish list for the family at both places! And I must say that I do like the grocery shopping at the Super Wal Mart, sometimes that is.
One has to look at the big picture and don’t just assume that Wal Mart always has the best prices, because they don’t! But lets talk about the online store. You can find it at https://walmart.com. That was easy enough! And when you get there you will find just about everything you need!
The Online Store
Across the top of their homepage you will find links that will take you to: Electronics, Video Games, Toys, Gifts, Jewelry, Home, Garden, Sports, Movies, Books and Music. Each link will take you to areas where you can shop till you drop!
You will also find links to” Home Page, Help, Your Account, Shopping Cart and their search engine for the entire site. I like that feature and use is often!
The online Wal Mart homepage will always have the current sale items for you to look at and you can click those pictures that will take you that product to find out more about them.
You can enter to win their current sweepstakes on the homepage, as well as sign up for values with Wal Mart. You can find out info about Summer Vacations and Back Yard Fun. They also offer Baby Registry. And that link alone will take you to a page that you can spend hours at! Click it and see for yourself.
Down at the bottom of the homepage you will find links that will take you to places of interest like: Ordering Help, shipping and returns, store help, and if you still have questions. You can also find a link to help you find a store near you! (Course most of us already know this information, however if you are going to traveling then this link may come in handy.) And of course information about Wal-Mart company, jobs, privacy terms. Those things you will have to read the fine print to. And like I said each link will take you to a new page and you can really spend a lot of time shopping around and not leave your home. That is a good thing. And each page loads quickly.
The Gift Section
I really like this section because recently I used it to purchase something for my mother in law for Mother’s Day and I was able to get some very helpful ideas. I was also able to ship directly to her. Which I really liked!
But there was a slight problem, which Wal-Mart made right! Wal Mart called me to let me know they were out of the item I had ordered for my Mother In Law for Mother’s Day. They gave me other choices, which I would get for the same price and they paid to have it shipped express shipping. Which were 57.41 out of their pockets and not mine! They also will eat you up on those s/h charges so weigh your options. The best time for me to use them to ship something is to relatives far away or when I just can’t get out and go myself. So look at all your options first before ordering anything.
At the Gift link I can look for items for the male or female of the house. I can shop by Occasions as well. And I can shop for cards Fresh Flowers. This is my most favorite link! Keep in mind Graduation and Father’s Day are coming up and you can find all sorts of ideas for these people at https://walmart.com.
Shipping and Handling
It can get costly. This is a pet peeve I have with the Wal Mart Online Store. For instance to ship a photograph you would pay a fixed cost of 1.38, no per item cost, 1.38 for total for one item cost, 5.27 for a surcharge for priority shipping, or 16.88 for a surcharge for express shipping. The quicker you want it there, the more it will cost you!
So as you can see you can see you really need to look at this information very carefully. It really surprised me, although it shouldn’t have, that Wal Mart charged these kind of shipping and handling prices. I found them to be one of the highest if not the highest as of yet!
They do ship to Military address as well as other places within the US. They do not offer International shipping at this time. Also, you cannot order from online and pick up at a store. But you can take back an online purchase to a local store. You will need to read all about the shipping/handling in that section. These are US dollars.
What Else I Like
They do offer an online pharmacy, gift registry, tire and lube, Wal Mart circular, and photo center. You will find links for each of these under Wal Mart services found in the help section. These place’s are wonderful! I like being able to shop from home with no lines, no people and no parking lot problems.! You know the kind! Some of the people out there are ruthless when it comes to parking at a Wal Mart store!
I like being able to know that my credit card info is safe. And that Wal Mart online will make it right just like their stores. My privacy is very well protected.

One other thing that I like is I can search the current sales paper from the homepage. I can use the search engine easily. And I can find out news about Wal Mart any time I want.
There are other helpful places to go through out the site, so look for them! Overall I have been happy with Wal Mart’s online store, but I do advice strongly to watch those shipping and handling charges.
Wal Mart is a great place to shop, no doubt about that, but there are better deals around as well. So shop around!
