Maybe not worth your Waqt

I must confess I went for Waqt with a biased mind after seeing Outlook’s 1 star and TOI’s 2 star reviews.

Actually it was better than I thought especially the first half. I especially liked the interaction between Amitabh and Boman Irani.

There is a decent message in the movie though they made a hash of it by overstating the richness (15 lakh charter flights to Rajasthan, 35k gaghracholis, 50k jeans and heated swimming pools in AC rooms for the princess!!) Ex postman becomes filthy rich. spoils child rotten and has to show tough love when he’s about to bite the big one!

2nd half is too sentimental, actually overly melodramatic.

AB does a great job, no overacting except at the very end. Akshay does better than his usual stuff. Priyanka Chopra was too melodramatic. The actress as AB’s wife was good as was Boman Irani.

Two low points for me

Raghu(Raju) Yadav(?) his role was unnecessary, too contrived though some in the audience couldn’t get enough.

The songs were uniformly bad. really. All seemed to be inserted just for the sake of having some songs and they were all bad. I expected better from Anu Malik, either he brought these songs out from old storage or some understudy did the actual songs.

Lets not forget the grand finale, but I wont spoil it for you! ;) It has to be seen to be believed!! hahahahaha

So there you have it.

I think you can see it once.
