Dishonest and cheat

Very few people know that the servicing people at dealers have targets to achieve in terms of revenue per car when it comes for servicing(even free services). So it is normal that if a service part can be serviced still they recommend(strongly) a replacement. A customer may still not complain as at least a need for rectification is there. However, what I faced at Wasan motors is completely cheating that I have never experienced at my Maruti dealers for my esteem or at Hyundai for my Accent. There is a culture of deceit at Wasan it so seems:

Firstly, when I bought Indica Vista Quadrajet for my wife the sales person at Wasan Motors, on my enquiry almost sold me a Minda security immobiliser stating that Vista did not have a company fitted one, This was completely wrong as I cross checked in the manual and found the car to be fitted with one from Tata’s itself, when I confronted the sales guy he feigned ignorance stating they had not been informed on the existence of immobiliser in their training.

Secondly, When I took my vista for Ist servicing after doing 1000 kms the servicing supervisor advised me for undertaking Teflon coating, engine lacquer polishing and anti rust treatment for the underbelly of the car. No problem till here, as these things though hardsold were optional and one took them in the interest of the car. but what came next was again cheating: I was told that apart from the approx 7000 bucks for various treatments I had agreed to I will have to pay Rs 1200 for oil top-up. I refused as the oil was topped up already and I had done only 1000 kms so I told them that if required I would top up the oil from outside myself. The servicing supervisor Pankaj pawar told me that he was not speaking about engine oil but oil that needs to be pushed through fuel pump to check compression.( totally malicious statement) and that it was wrtten in the manual also that it is required to be done, so I consented. When I came for taking delivery the assigned person wasnt there so I checked about Rs 1200 in the bill detail and was shocked to know that it was for engine addetive. I was angry as the previouis guy had told that it was for pushing oil from fuel pump so I waited for the guy and confronted him, but he was a smooth talker and told the oil was indeed addetive only and showed me that it was required and was given in manual which he just glanced through with me then and there.

*Now the point is after coming home I checked the manual thoroughly only to finr that addetive was required only for other Indicas(TDI) and not for Quadrajet.( so this Rs 1200 was a looting which I never experienced at a Maruti or Hyundai.)

The other point is that the defects mentioned by me(clun clunk noise from the underbelly of the car) before servicing remain as they were or worse even after servicing.

Sorry, I have been given more oppurtunity to inform readers about this Tata product and its definitely nothing that I feel happy doing. After getting disillusioned with the way Wasan Motors operated, I logged on to tata motors site and registered my complaint. surprisingly, I got a call from Wasan motors to get my Vista to their service centre. I got a SMS stating that I had a appointment at Wasan at 9 am the following day. I reached at 9 am sharp only to find no one there to attend to me. The service supervisor came late and directly went into a meeting and was not accessible to me directly, finally at around 10.20 or so I was attended to stating that there was no need to leave behind the car as it would hardly require anytime and would be done if I waited a little, pleased I waited.and waited.and waited. They could not ascertain what was wrong with the car and just tried tightening anything they thought would do the trick. Finally the the way noise was coming changed but the noise was still there, now apart from intermediate appearance of clunk clunk there was **sound from axle on sharp turn( The last time I remember hearing this sound was from my first Maruti 1000 when it was 7 years old).

There was a manufacturing defect in the Front light and the same was agreed to be replaced and was done so, but the light change made me wait there till 1 pm. The mechanics wanted to take out the old light without opening the bumper and the light was not yielding to their unprfoessional working ultimately they relented and loosened the bumper from one side and got the light out and fixed a new one I grabed my car and vanished.
