Read this if you shop electronics from e-tailers !

I bought a Casio watch from watchkart.com and one of the links broke in a week’s time. I took it to the Casio Service Center and they looked at the watch and asked me from where I had purchased the watch coz this seems to have been a defective piece.

The point where the link was broken is the strongest part of the link and cannot break so easily. I was shocked. I decided not to buy electronics from any of the online stores and askd the Casio service centre guy to repair the watch under warranty. His response was even more shocking to me. He said that the warranty card I had received from watchkart.com does not have a date of purchase or the vendor’s name and therefore the watch cannot be serviced under warranty.

When I contacted watchkart, the company has the audacity to give me a written reply that, it is a company policy that they do not stamp the date of purchase and vendor name on any product they sell, because they have a 14 days return policy and that if the customer returns then they will have to scrap the product or cannot be re-sold.

The bottomline guys is that - All the online stores sell used or defective product. It just makes business sense for them But it doesn’t make any sense to us coz we are paying our hard earned money. why should we settle for anything less???

I challenge all the online store representative reading this review to refute my claim. Please be very careful. Buy online only if you think that you are getting a product at a dirt cheap price., If its a matter of 500 or 750 bucks that is the differentiator, please buy the product from a nearby showroom. The savings do not justify the cost that manifests in the form of frustration and anger once you discover that the product you have bought is a defective one or used by someone else and returned to the company under the ’14-day return policy’ as the companies themselves claim.

Buyer beware!!!
