Wazir - a pompous name for a lumbering pawn

The *dosti* wala song was one of the teasers to see the movie.  As were the marquee names of Amitabh Bacchan and Farhan Akhtar.

AB has been there - done it all.  Is there any possible shade in him left to reveal is the question?  He plays a disabled man with an obsession about chess(somewhat like the players in Shatranj ke Khilari) and believes it to be the answer to all of life’s problems.  Or so, he makes Farhan Akhtar think.

Next - Farhan Akhtar - of late he has made the silent, "less words", intellectual man of the world roles his forte.  The silent looks, the furrowed eyebrows, the expressionless eyes all of which stand for acting are in abundance in the movie.

The story - smart but the telling of it leaves a lot to be desired.  The motivation of the characters while clear. makes one wonder whether they are dealing with reality(uske aankhon mein saboot hai).  No, not revealing the plot but you wont help but agree that audiences nowadays, fed on a diet of subtitled and slick English movies, expect a lot more from Bollywood.

Manas Paul and Aditi Rao Hydari - some semblance of good acting - adequate job but very stereotyped characters.

Am not saying anything more but dont blame me if you come out with a slight bad taste in the mouth.
