Clutching at my stomach (by laughing so much and nothing else), eyes watering (again ...am laughing) and unable to listen to what my friends are saying ...that was the state I was in when I came out of the Vue Cinema watching ’’The Wedding Crashers’’ . A real entertaining movie where in you wont be disappointed if you watch it as a movie and dont reason much . John (Owen Wilson) & Jermy (Vince Vaughn) are great together - their chemistry is worth watching both as Divorce mediators and as wedding crashers. A lot many funny lines, rules about crashing weddings, different relationships which have gone wrong due to basic tendencies - all give a lot to laugh about. Claire (Rachel McAdams) just takes your heart away...with the twinkling in the eye and naughty smile. Gloria (Isla Fisher) is the sex siren in the movie who takes to bed (and to sand on the beach) with Jermy. Secretary Cleary (Christopher Walken) has put in a good performance as Claire’s and Gloria’s father.
The storyline is pretty catchy - Life is all fun for John and Jermy esp when it is the Wedding Season. They crash wedding in order to cash on the romantic tinge in air and bed the girls. Life takes a twist when John falls in love with Claire. The fact that Claire is already engaged makes matters even more tricky. What happens then makes for the rest of the movie and I wont spoil your surprise.
At times the movie reminds you of many a bollywood flick a la DDLJ but David Dobkin has kept the interest going. Nowhere do you feel that the movie drags. The romantic preludes between John and Claire ...covering the seaside and the countryside is absolutely fabulous. Overall ...a lovely movie.
