I may be a bit straight to put my comments in this forum. I am sure, might be it is going to be a bit distateful for majority. My apologies in advance if I hurt the sentiments of them. But cannot help expressing my feelings. This is my first review - and I am ready to receive slaps from your side.
I have read many reviews about the movie Wednesday. And every body is speaking in high regards about the movie. **But let me put it straight to all - I have not seen such a mediocre movie getting huge publicity in recent times!
*My reasons being -
The element of fiction has gone down to the level of melodrama in this movie. And everybody likes melodrama. How is this movie different from Sas Bahu serials in principle?
A common man woke up one fine day and pass on message to PC that he had installed RDX in Mumbai. And PC got assurance from CM that it is a matter of state and need to be dealt in the state level - Fantastic! Neeraj Pandey gave the first right message to the audience that terrorism and a matter of such serious nature shall not be even informed to RAW or any other Central Agencies. Also, to save the city from the mishap, CM gave unlimited power to PC! Vowww - Which part of the legislation give this much of power to CM? And he already decided to release 4 terrorists also!
Fantastic! What more spice you need to rush Adrenaline!
Its a pity to see people applauding on these sequences.
My dear friends - do you ever think of the terrorist black mail on the eve of 2000 where in Jaswant Singh has to fly to Kandahar to release innocent passengers? Ok leave it - Have you ever read of the incident where in Mehbooba Sayyed, daughter of then Cabinet Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayyed being kindanpped and Government released some terrorists to get her back safe? Before the release - what all debates happened?
Well - I am not advocating that the movie should be realistic to 100%. But - the fiction element need to have some limits. If not - it will go down to the level of Saas - Bahu serials.
Again - News was flashed in one channel about the terrorist attacks but alas none of the other channels made this as an issue. Also, none of the agencies find it as an important call to attend. It is PC, CM and one TV channel representative. Vowwww - We are here to applaud on all nonsense.
Finally - when the place from where the common man operates is being displayed as "Lalbaug" the great PC decided to drive all the way alone to trace him. Also, none of the other officers feel it important to follow him in the interest of his safety. Fantastic!
And Lalbaug is such a small place where in Mr. Commissioner took only a few minutes to locate the place of operation of the common man! **Excellent.
Also, the issue was known to many - including team of police officers, techies, T V channel but still the same was not taken into record! Amazing.
*If we promote such movies friends - what is wrong with Dhoom 2 and all such craps?
As audience - we are just carried away by the relevance of the theme. A bit of spice and adrenaline rush is enought to make the movie great.
And what is so great in the performance of Anupam Kher and Nasiruddin Shah? Both are seasoned actors and this movie didnot utilise the full potential.
Friends - wake up and be serious while you write reviews.
Now - I am ready for the slap!
