Aneez Bazmee..The man behind films like "Pyaar to hona hi tha" and "No entry" , you except a lot from his latest outing WELCOME. Fortunately, WELCOME works!!!
WELCOME’s script is somewhat similar to Priyadarshan’s HULCHUL. Replace Akshay Kumar for Kareena, Akshaye Khanna for Katrina and Sunil Shetty for Paresh...things start getting similar. But WELCOME is different due to the subplots.
WELCOME is not a situational comedy. It’s a verbal comedy.Comedy that grows from the dialogues, not the scene. And that’s where is scores.
WELCOME is filled with 2 funniest situations..1st-The car incident before the interval and 2nd-The crematorium sequence before the climax.Even the dialogues said by Anil, Nana and Paresh are hilarious.
But WELCOME is not without it’s share of adversaries.
1st-Music is bad.
2nd-The rocket sequence at the beginning, the swimming pool sequence and the falling house sequence..are tooo stupid to believe.
Aneez Bazmee scores for making an entertainer worthwhile for everyone.A good comedy film.But we still would prefer No Entry over WELCOME.
Cinematography is not upto the mark.Sanjay F Gupta(Mujshe Shaadi Karogi, Musafir) is not in form this time.
Music is Bad.Barring "Uncha lamba kad", other songs are hopeless.
Dialogues are the best part of the film.They are truly funny.
Nana Patekar is the clear winner.An excellent performance with great comic timing, he sure will win all the applauds.
Anil Kapoor then follows.A powerful performance afer a long time.We like it.
Paresh Rawal...as usual......EXCELLENT.
Akshay Kumar disappoints. He does his Agastya Rao from Jaanemann.
Mallika Sherawat excels in her introduction scene.Katrina Kaif has nothing much to do.
At the end, WELCOME is a worth-watch.
