Hilarious in parts..

’Subah Se Na ek aloo bika hai, na bika hai aadha kaanda.’- if watching this dialogue being spoken by Nana Patekar does not get you in splits, then bollywood’s silly comedy genre is not for you.

Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor are in their finest form along with Feroz Khan, Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar and beauties of Katrina and Mallika in Anees Bazmee’s laughathon which comes after his successful No Entry.

There is no need to indulge in story, script and direction because these are the aspects that you should not care about when you’re out to watch a silly comedy.

The film is a little lengthy but with the bits of hilarious sequences and dialogues that come along, you will be holding your stomach more often than you did when you watched Partner. Majnoo bhai(Anil Kapoor)’s extortion threat going out to Dr. Ghungroo(Paresh Rawal) turning out to be a total flop attempt is among the funnier scenes of the film. Thereafter, several confrontations between Majnoo bhai, Ghungroo, Uday Shetty(Nana Patekar) and Rajiv(Akshay) are equally entertaining and have been brilliantly performed. Parle G biscuit dialogue will be discussed over and over among friends and Uday Shetty’s heroic venture on horses under Vijay Raaz’s film direction forms the funniest comic sequence which will make one roll on the floor!

Nana Patekar has never been seen in such form and his comic timing is excellent. He is hilarious in the horse sequence and his dialogue delivery and change in emotions just adds to his comic form. Anil Kapoor has given us a comic performance that comes next only to his role in Deewana Mastana. He fits into the role of Majnoo bhai very comfortably and plays it effortlessly as if it were tailor made for him. The’bhai’ attitude and comedy are in perfect synch for him. Feroz Khan has never played a comic role but he does it well this time as the deadly Don RDX. Paresh Rawal is at his usual self while Akshay Kumar proves himself at comedies yet again.

The music is lack lustre and it does nothing besides dragging the film longer than what it should’ve been.

The film’s climax is a bit of a let down considering the opportunities and the build up that leads to it. Nevertheless, it is a paisa vasool flick and after a few serious films, there is no harm in watching a senseless, silly, slapstick comedy that refreshes your mind with its nonsense. Watch it for the Abbas Tyrewala’s dialogues, Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor.

-7.53 on a scale of 1-10.
