Wendy s, McDonalds, and Burger King. These 3 are the biggest fast food hamburger joints in America (and most likely the world). Wendys while very similar to the other two, does has its own unique plusses and minuses like what? Let us see.
Food:
Burgers
Wendys in my opinion has the best hamburgers of the big three, they almost even come close in quality to sit down resturants like T.G.I. Fridays and Chilis. Wendys have square shaped hamburger patties instead of round, and they seem bigger than anyone elses. Burger Kings burgers come close in quality, and McDonalds burgers are terrible compared to Wendys. Their best known hamburgers are The Single, The Double, and the Triple. The single is kind of small, The Double is a good size, and The Triple is only good if you want to eat your burger with a fork and knife, otherwise it will invariably fall apart once you touch it, it is so tall.
Fries:
Wendys fries always taste undercooked to me. The individual fries are a bit bigger than the other companies fries perhaps that is the reason. They are not bad mind you, but certainly not the best.
Other Sandwiches and Items:
Of the big Three previously mentioned, Wendys makes the best fast food chicken sandwich bar none except KFC. They have 3 varieties, a regular (fried) chicken sandwich, the Spicy Chicken sandwich and a Grilled Chicken sandwich. All three are good, but the Spicy Chicken sandwich is very good. Yum! Wendys also will make a specialty sandwich every once in a while (like the Chicken Cordon Bleu) these sandwiches are good as well. Wendys also sells chili and it is pretty good. They also sell Baked potatoes and Salads. The Salads are very good, the Baked Potatoes are O.K but they skimp on the toppings (they have Bacon and cheddar and Sour cream and Chive varieties). Wendys is well known for their Frosty snack. It is a frozen chocolate concoction, that is a cross between a shake and soft serve ice cream. I do not personally care for it, because it is too thick, but it tastes pretty good.
Price: Wendys is comparably priced to Burger King and McDonalds. If I had to choose the most expensive it would be Wendys, but not by much. they have a value menu like the other two and there is a fair variety of items on it like a small bowl of chili or a chive baked potato, a small Frosty, a small order of fries, etc etc.
Service: Wendys lines tend to be long, but this is because your food is cooked to order, unlike the other two who will premake the more popular choices. Otherwise you have your usual suspects as cashiers and cooks, young kids and retirees. Service varies widely in each location you go, but generally it is a bit better (but slower) than Mcdonalds and Burger King.
The Bottom line is that if McDonalds, Burger King and Wendys are side by side, I will choose Wendys 80 percent of the time. So if you only have 5 minutes to eat, go ahead and stop by a Wendys near you!
