I bough product is 2005 as one with best warranty and extended support available.
Always facing problems. After 2/3 attempts to fix issue with refirgerator Compressor was replaced in 2007. One controller(do not recollect part name) replaced thrice.
I had renewed service contract in Feb-2011. They do not update records and you have to give photocopy receipts every time. This is case till today. 28-Sep-11
In May 2011 back panel melted due to failure of some part. They could not source panel. They failed to do temporary fix with faied part replacement and panel fix.
Even though had AMC; I had to get fixed by local mechanic.
In Sep-11 refrigerator started making lot of noise and cooling became problem. Engineer did not acknowledge it. On second complaint he said heill refill GAS. I had to provide photocopy of AMC so that I do not get charged for this.
Post this within week cooling became problem. Ice started forming in chiller tray compartment and vegetable moisture started turning to ice.
Water started flowing from top panel of refrigeration section.(next to chill tray).
Records still not updated.
STAY AWAY FROM WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT. NOTHING HAS CHANGED EVEN AFTER CALLING WHIRLPOOL OFFICE. EVERYTIME I HAD TO CALL THEM AS ACTUAL SUPPORT IS FROM FRANCHICE.
