For those in hurry - The product is good and doesnt need much of maintenance. But when it stops working and you call the customer service, you are in for a surprise pathetic customer service.
I bought Whirlpool 2 door refrigerator in Mar-2009. It worked fine for last 4 years. However it stopped working(cooling the stuff) 10 days back. Hence called their service center. It takes 10 - 15 min waiting time before customer service guy attends you.
(Rs.15 gone before you talk to the guy!). They registered a complaint and said someone will call you in next 24 hours. But no one called. I called them back 20 min before the 24 hour waiting period to tell them that no one has yet called me.
The customer service guy arrogantly tells me thatplease wait for 24 hours. I said it is only 10 min remaining for the completion of 24 hours since I called yesterday. He did not listed. Next day engg came and checked. He said he will have to replace one of the part.
We did, but it did not solve the problem. Then they said we will have to replace compressor. I agreed to do it(you need to pay for every thing including a Rs.300 visiting fee). However since then no body has come to replace the compressor.
I kept calling every day for last 15 days (every time have to wait for 10-15 min before the customer service guy attends me! it is not a toll free number!). After escalations, came to know that compressor for my refrigerator model are in short supply, and they declined to confirm the date when it will be available.
I am living without refrigerator for last 15 days. Have buy vegetables, fruits, milk products etc. every day to avoid spoiling. RIDICULOUS SERVICE!
