We bought this washing machine in April 2011, hoping to get something better than the LGs and Samsung out there. How wrong we were. Within 14 months, the machine has died 4 times. LG and Samsung at least have some professionalism in their after sales service. These Whirlpool guys know how to get to the bottom and stay there.
The service person they sent replaced a circuit board and managed to cut cut wires and then used black tape to join them together. The next serviceman indented a wiring harness and a motor and they still havent arrived after 20 days of waiting. On phoning the serviceman, he recommended that we go to consumer court! The machine itself, as just stated broke down 4 times during the first year of its miserable life and still lies in a state of disrepair in my flat.
If this kind of thing had happened in America or the UK, whirlpool would have have been sued and made to pay compensation for all the trouble and harassment caused. Here in India, the concept of consumer protection is quite non-existent.
To sum up, do not spend your money on a Whirlpool product, just make do with the LGs and Samsung.
