I have a Whirlpool Super capacity washing machine.........now get this..........for 20 years! It still works as well as it did when it was new.
The only repairs I ever had to make to this fantastic washing machine, was I had a repairman come here once to replace the knob mechanism. Thats it, in 20 years.
My machine is a 2 speed, 5 cycle agitator type. It has settings for permanent press, heavy duty (denim and blankets), light loads (dainties and stuff) and regular loads.
It has 3 water levels to choose from. Small load, 6 pounds, medium load, 12 pounds and large load, 18 pounds. You have to judge the weight of the load, but what I do is press the water conservation button and set most loads on medium and let the machine judge for me.
It has a self cleaning filter, which is great! I dont have to worry about cleaning the filter each time I wash clothes and there is never a build up to clog the system.
You can choose from cold, warm or hot water settings, depending on what you are washing. But, I usually wash everything in cold water, except whites, which I wash with bleach in warm water.
There is even a dispenser for your liquid bleach so you dont have to worry about pouring it in and getting too much on an item of clothing. There is also a dispenser for putting liquid water softener in as well. You can add it in the beginning of the wash cycle and the machine releases it during the last rinse to soften the clothes.
There is even an option where you can set the machine to soak clothes in a pre-wash solution for stubborn dirt and grime. It holds it in the soak cycle for up to 3 hours and then starts the wash automatically.
As I said, my machine is 20 years old, its big, ugly and green, and if anything ever happen to it, you can bet 100% Id most certainly buy another Whirlpool Super!
