I bought this Whirlpool water purifier(reserve osmosis) and have the following review comments:
Pros:
large water tank of 8 ltrs that is compactly packed into a nice looking casing. Unlike the Kent machines, you cant see the internal filters/ pipes, etc.
auto shut off on power failure.
easy to operate. Can see water level with an external indicator.
cheaper than Kent. I bought it at Rs 12, 600 for quoted price of Rs 13, 500.
Decent service - You can call their toll free number/ contact your sales agent for service which is generally prompt.
Cons:
I paid Rs 600 for stand for getting it wall mounted. When they finished mounting it, it looked so ugly since the stand was horizontal(the one used in split ac units) rather than a back vertical stand.
when I was purchasing it, the agent did not tell me that it came with an extra purifying cylinder/ filter that fits, in addition to the regular body of water purifier. But I believe that Kent and Eureka forbes also have a similar cylinder.
This extra cylinder is more costly for replacement than Kent / Eureka Forbes.
It has about 15 inches of depth. So, it will jut out 15 inches from the wall. if you plan to fit it inside a kitchen cabinet, make sure the cabinet is atleast 16 inches deep.
Annoying water tap - its water tap is not designed well. Everytime you close it, it interferes with the water pouring in the bottle/ glass. You can compare the tap of kent/ eureka forbes and whirlpool to get an idea of what I am saying.
Their website doesnt work too well for registering customer complaints. So dont waste time on their website. Catch hold of your sales agent.
The input and output pipes are birghtly colored(orange & blue) which may stick out in your kitchen and spoil the entire look of your kitchen. Also, the drainage from the residual output pipe is constant. So make sure that this pipe is well connected to the kitchen drain pipe.
Overall - this is a good alternative to ugly looking kent.
