As other Rahul Boses movies this is again a portrayal of upper class (or upper middle class) lifestyle. The script revolves around a girl who is trapped in the men dominating world. She is caught between her emotions and her career. Her life is almost aimless throughout the movie but at last she finds the goal of her life - Independence.
Script
Gauri Khanna (Koel Puri) is a scriptwriter who is having an affair with a married man. But the guy dumps her in a dramatic way. She is a scriptwriter and joins a Television Company. She is ambitious and wants to focus on her work but at the same time she is destroying herself. She is an alcoholic and her hysterical shocks are often publicly witnessed.
Another incident adds to the sufferings when her superior tries to fool around with her at her new workplace. She manages to escape out of this but could not face the consequences after that. It becomes difficult for Gauri to continue with her job.
She meets Karan (Rahul Bose) who is her colleague. Karan feels little sympathetic to her situation and tries to offer his helping hand. Though he doesnt find any appropriate way to help her, but they end up becoming good pals. He explains her the concept of White Noise which she doesnt understand (I dont think anybody else does) at that moment. She has completely lost hope in herself but karan is still determined to lit it up again.
Circumstances bring them to Krishikesh for some official trip, and some miracle happens there (which audience never understand). She understands the meaning of white noise which gives her a direction in her life and energy to perceive it. She decides to make a movie and portray her life in that. More than that she decides to start her life again with the new energy, new determination and a new aim - INDEPENDENCE.
Comments
Though the movie theme was good but the script was not at all well formed. It could not portray the theme or characters very well. At the end of the movie, what changes her(Gauri) life and attitude is nowhere clear. The dramatic break-up between Gauri and Married Guy was a meaningless creativity (if they thought its a creativity).
Rahul boses character most of the times doesnt make much sense. He wants to help Gauri but doesnt know how. He believes in the concept of White Noise which is as confusing for the audience as it was for himself. He doesnt want his parents involvement in his life but I dont understand how important was that in the movie.
Koel Puri has done a good job. Her manly posture and tough face are little drawback but she still managed to give a good performance (especially in scenes of hysterics).
Direction is not bad, but not good too. At some places you do feel abruptness in the scenes.
Movie has a good element of feminism, so I suggest guys to not watch it with their girl friends wink
As I like offbeat movies, my rating is somewhat biased to its concept and its closeness to reality.
