Okay so its official I cannot figure women out. Sometimes I think they do not want to be understood but lets be honest how hard do men try to understand women anyway?. I was wondering how bad the situation was when I picked up this book. At the time I was 20 and was just beginning to be aware of the fact that women existed. I must admit that Alan had done a commendable job in the book. He simply dissects everything that men and women do down to the very last detail and then proceeds to explain as to why they do it. Sure he maintains a big humour about the whole thing and I feel that is the way to write anything as critical as the book. I say critical because I honestly feel that that is what the book does it criticises everything men and women do and then plainly explains why. The way Alan explains the role of chemistry (I mean literally chemistry) in the way a woman selects a man is brilliant. He also describes in vivid detail how men loose out to women when it comes to having an eye for detail. The aggressive nature of men and the providing nature of women. Alan has done a lot of research as is evident from the funny cartoon like sense of humour he displays in some places. I especially liked the explanation as to how men could not figure out women because they were not good listeners. Believe me men really do marvel at women’s capacity to yap on and on. I joke you not when I say you can put your phone on speaker and just go HUH and women can talk on for hours. Its a skill that I can only attribute to the extra X chromosome they have. I feel the co authors deserve a round of applause for systematically dissecting the habits of men and women. Sure all relationships are based on trust however what women and men define as trust is another story. There is a particularly funny passage in the book where in a woman goes on narrating her story regardless of the questions the man is posing. FUNNY and TRUE. I recommend this book to people who have a woman in their lives or who are planning on having some. Sure men are firm believers in the fact that when it comes to women and cell phones there will always be a better model in the future but the trick is to stick to the same cell phone sorry I mean woman. LOL. The book is brilliant for read even if you are sceptic about pre defined notions. All in all I recommend the book just for the entertainment value it provides, if not for the education.
