My experience, sorry to say, was not like that, this supposedly being one of the best hotels and the most expensive on the beautiful island of Havelock. The staff was courteous though. The location of the resort is its biggest USP, being near to the beautiful Vijaynagar Beach No. 5.
Apart from that, there is not much I can say about the resort. Though the cottage, built in traditional andamanese style, look lovely from outside, they lack in space. Again the beds are beautiful, but lack space. I went wih my family, and booked 2 rooms in the resort. My parents who are nearing 60, my 2 year old kid and my husband. There used to be practically no electricity during the day. We spent 2 nights without electricity. There was no back up and no candles/lamps were there. We made do with the mobile flash light. And the air conditioners, sadly never worked, even when electricity was there.
The restaurentRed Snapper though pretty expensive(but then most of the things on the island are expensive) served decent fare but the menu was pretty limited. Also, there is a bar -The Emerald Gecko Bar which we didnt try out but hear that its pretty good.
The best part was the proximity of the Vijay Nagar Beach, which is a beautiful beach with almost white sand. The waters are emerald and just sitting there and watching the sunset and the sunrise gives one a lot of peace and calm.
The resort also organises snorkelling and scuba diving trips on request.
All in all, though the island is beautiful and has lovely beaches, the resort was not up to our expectations.
