I have never been a radio buff; not really. Frankly the only time I used to tune in to the radio was during a cricket match. Later, cable TV put a stop to that as well. Well, that was until the FM radio rage began. Five robust channels to choose from and the best amongst them? WIN 94.6.
Amazingly humorous DJs, mind-boggling mimicry artists, stupendous music, funky indi-pop to melodious film tunes, WIN 94.6 has it all. The best of the programmes (I love all of them) being Khanak, aired between 9:00 p.m to 10:00 p.m. This programme comprises of the cream of the hindi film music of yesteryears. The icons and legends of Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsale and Mukesh grace our evenings. The host Roshan Abbas renders his fantastic voice to enhance the grandeur of the show.
Apart from Khanak, all through the day there are miscellaneous film and non-film music, contests, dial-in requests, news flashes, traffic updates and so on. Even the ads and promos are artistically presented. Really, WIN 94.6 can be rated as the emperor amongst the FM channels.
