Space Industry particularly in India rarely comes for much discussion or information-sharing. This one from a veteran in that space discusses goal-setting, team motivation, project management etc. in that context. The first-person narratives are reasonably pacy.
The whole book is quite realistic as there is no dramatization through literary technique and stuff like that. The energy and "lets do it" spirit of the author which made him increasingly influential within the Establishment comes through in all chapters of the book.
How some of the better decisions in ISRO were taken, and also the highs-and-lows at the launch sites are well-narrated. Its all about being infused with a sense of purpose .
The book, does at least for the first time in the public realm, offer glimpses of the working of the research departments and space agencies. It also conveys the importance of certain towering figures such as Vikram Sarabhai, Brahmprakash, Homi Bhabha among others and how the Indian scientific establishments were propelled by their personalities.
