Dr. Vivian Baring, professor of 17th-century poetry and John Donne Fellow, was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. What we see is her in flashbacks as she wrestled with her death in her last days, as an inflexible professor who shows no kindness to children, students, and students.
This one-act play was recommended to me by my girlfriend. I havent read a play since my senior year of high school in 1998(The Crucible). It was an easy read, but my unfamiliarity with Donnes work made it a little difficult for me to analyze his work. It seems to have seen character growth, noting how patients often feel like experiments in a hospital rather than human beings.
