WOH LAMHE....A movie I had been waiting for since the day it was announced....and after I saw gangster I became even more eager...finally the movie came amidst huge hype.i could not go 2 watch the movie on the first day though I wanted to....then I started getting the feedbacks from people who saw it and they were pretty much similar.they all found it BAD.They also advised me against it but I had to go...and finally I saw the movie....
So was I right in deciding to go and watch the movie?did it live up to the expectations??is it worth your money??the answer is a big YES...
It is a movie that gives you a peek into the much talked about affai of the 70s...the MAHESH BHATT-PARVEEN BABI affair.....though I don have much knowledge about the authenticity of the facts that have been presented onscreen by Mahesh bhatt, but watever is shown in the movie is highly ENGROSSING & TOUCHING.
THE MOVIE is about a famous actress who falls in love with awannabe director who first uses her as a ladder to success but ends up falling in love with her only to find that she has a psychological disorder....and about the lows and highs of their relationship and how ultimately the disease takes its toll on her and forces her to go away from her beloved and multiplies leading to.....................
With this movie mohit suri takes a giant leap as a story teller though he is still far away from being perfect.He handles most of the emotional scenes with elan and manages to pull the heartstrings of the viewers more often than not.Although he is much better from his last 2 directorial ventures but he still shows immaturity in someparts....like the last scene between kangna and shiney where he takes the scene to an alltime high and then brings it down to the ground via the conversation between shiney and kangna’s boyfriend which looks completely out of place especially the dialogues...
DIRECTION-----so its 8 0n 10 as far as direction is concerned.And how I wish mahesh bhatt himself would have directed this film, the result would have been outstanding.
SCREENPLAY----IF THERE IS A SORE POINT IN THE WHOLE OF THE ENTERPRISE its the screenplay....bcause of which some scenes look totally out of place.its a 6 on 10 for the screenplay.
PERFORMANCES----This is one aspect of the movie which is flawless.shiney ahuja and kangana ranaut look perfect in the roles and enact there parts brilliantly.Especially shiney ahuja.he is awsum...take my words...he will be a big superstar soon....i am waiting 4 his next performance
kangna looks beautiful and plays her part exceptionally well...
the actor SHAAD playing kangana’s boyfriend makes an impressive debut.Purab is perfect in his role.The girl playing the role of RAANI i.e kangana’s alter ego scares the daylights outta u.and all the co actors are competent enough.so its 10 on 10 for performances.
MUSIC-----ANOTHER PLUS POINT OF THE MOVIE.THERE IS not a single song that doesnt leave an impression and the songs stay wid u even after the screening is over.the sales of the music will only go up ...so its 8.5 on 10 for the music
OVERALL---- so overall its a well made movie efficiently directed, carrying amazin performances and memorable music. Though the movie might not appeal to everyone because of its sad overtone and a negative end but its still worth a watch bcoz the pros far outnumber the cons.its a must watch especially for ppl who like emotional movies bcoz it is bound to pull a string or two of ur heart and u come out of the auditorium with a heavy heart and a memorable experience......
