Pritam played his wild cards skillfully

Pritam Chakraborthy the ad. Jingle master with lots of add jingles under his belt turned a film music director with the hit music of Dhoom. Let’s hope he give better music in Dhoom2. About the album Woh lamhe, it has an objectionable cover for the start. I rememberd Jal’s Who lamhey when I saw the title of the movie.Based on the relationships of director Mahesh Bhatt and Prabin Bobby’s concealed love life this movie seems to be the typical Mahesh Bhatt banner Vishesh film with the repeated main cast of Gangster except Hashmi.

The album kick starts with a very catchy number, Kya Mujhe pyar hai. The fist time I saw the promo I wanted the song very badly. This song is groovy and emotion provoking at the same time. Very well rendered by KK the music is also good with simple but effective instrumentation like the guitar in the beginning. The USP of this song is the lyrics without doubts, thanks to Neelesh Mishra the lyricist. The next track is Chal Chalen, keeping up the fame of Na jane Koi from Gangster James has sung this song with the needed passion. Lyrics is again striking but the music could have been better. After that, we come across Tu Jo Nahin , amazingly executed by the singer Glenn John, the earthy instrumentation gives the song the life and emotion it needs. It takes us back to the Nadeem Shrawan era when we listen to this song.

Then we have Shreya Ghosal singing So Jaun Mein , now we have a facade of some computer generated music and still the earthy instruments rule the song. Lyrics are formidable and the singer puts good effort to highlight the words.

At track 5 we have Tu Jo Nahin II which is almost same to the Tu Jo Nahin. After it we stumble upon So Jaun Mein (Male), classy singing has been carried out by the effervescent Kunal Ganjawala. In my view the narcotic voice of Ganjawala does more justice to the song than that of Ghosal. Similar instrumentation as of the female version this song is good for the oldies listener. Then Jawad Ahamad , a voice I haven’t heard earlier sings Bin Tere, a song that falls in the tragic category I feel. Ambitious lyrics, describing the situation is a good feature of this song. Simple instrumentation and soothing voice makes this song a melodious one. Last but not the least, we again have Kya Mujhe Pyar Hai, but in a remix version. The mix has been well accomplished by the DJ. Its amazing how KK’s voice is seamlessly woven in the foot tapping music. Personally, I find this song very recharging, the 4/4 beats really make me want to dance.

Sayeed Quadri has given the lyrics for 5 songs. So Jaun Mein has been written Sakeet. The studio professional have also done a very good job to enhance the listening quality of the songs. On the whole this album is a first-class album from Pritam. As in Gangster he is able to extract the best of KK in Kya Mujhe. His wild card James also doesn’t let him down after Na Jaane Koi. So if you want a in vogue album go to you nearest music store and ask for Woh Lamhe.
