I placed an order for a custom made study table on the 11th of April with these guys. During the Sale process, they were alert, efficient and followed up incessantly to ensure I made the payment and placed the order. I received up to a dozen calls a day to ensure that I handed over INR 28, 999/- I was told that since this was a custom order it would take up to a month to deliver the item, though they would try to finish and ship if faster.
A month went by and there was no further news from Woodenstreet. I wrote to them on 20th May and asked where my order was. This is the response I got:
We would like to inform you that your product is scheduled to get dispatch by the end of this month as your product got rejected by our quality check team during final stage of manufacturing process. And we believe in ensuring quality to all our products. We shall make sure the product received now would satisfy the quality aimed for.
I emailed them to say this is an unacceptable excuse and after much chasing finally got a phone call from them saying they will dispatch the product by the 31st of May for sure. Once again, 31st May came and went with no action or communication from Woodenstreet. On 4th I got an email saying the product has been dispatched. It arrived in a broken condition. I had been told there would be two pieces as this was an L-shaped table, instead there were three. One very awkward piece that was supposed to be clipped on top of the drawers to add height. This piece was badly banged up and the wood had broken.
The delivery guys left two pieces and took back the third broken piece. I was able to take pictures before they left and immediately emailed Woodenstreet. I also made notations on the delivery acknowledgement sheet and took pictures of that as well.
Since then it has been a week and there is no response from Woodenstreet. I am sitting with an incomplete set, no money, and no response from this unscrupulous business. If this matter is not resolved in the next week, I will be forced to take them to consumer court.
Please be very vary of handing over your money to these guys for any kind of product. They do not offer cash on delivery and may just dupe you of your money and then make you run pillar to post to get it back.
