Like the other reviewers here I also believed that Woodland made really good shoes. I have of late however been sorely dissappointed with the shoes I bought from Woodland. Firstly the shoe designs were awkward and did not fit perfectly and the quality they promise, has seemingly gone down the drains. The leather that is supposed to weather, now shatters in few weeks time only.
I purchased these awesome looking sandals worth Rs.1095/- from woodland in oct first week, 2004, even though the fitting seemed strange for normal human feet. And I paid the price. I hoped them to last forever like my earlier woodland shoes. But, in less than 2 months, the stiches had come off from all the sides, the velcro had come off in 10 days time only and I had stuck it with fevi-quick. I wanted an exchange, but they insisted on repair. After the repair, they looked good but again in 2 weeks time I was back in the shop with them, this time they were torn really badly. And even all the double stiches had come off.
The shop owner straight away refused for a replacement, saying that even though there is a guarentee, only if the leather gets cut then the company would replace them, otherwise no chance, no matter how badly it gets torn. He has promised me only a six months guarentee, while on the bill it doesnt say wether its six months or one year guarentee. I feel so cheated.
I have got them repaired just last week. And I strongly that its not gonna last this time too. Only thing I am afraid now, is that the guarentee ends in march 2005. So no scope for me to get a replacement anyways. I am so disappointed. I really feel that the quality of woodland shoes as well as afetr sales service has gone down the drains.
Even if JUST THAT IS THE FAULTY DESIGN, they should be willing to replace them after so much disaster to the sandals only because of normal walking. I would seriously want to discourage everyone from buying woodland, especially those good looking, but good for nothing sandals.
